Henry Kratz Kindig was born April 24, 1896 in Philadelphia, Pa, to Marvin and Anne Kindig. His father was a merchant. He was awarded two Silver Stars during his service in World War One. This diary begins in April 1918 and continues through November 1918. Upon return to the States, Henry married Madeleine (Mabs) Mautz. They had two children, Henry and Anne. His second wife was named Rosalie. Henry died in 1966.
